Registration Fee Woes

I noticed that the first thing runners complain about in a race is the registration fees.  There’s always this talk about the fees being too expensive, and that organizers are taking advantage of the “running boom”.  Well, not that I’m siding with the organizers, but I just wanted to give my thoughts and see if I can put myself in their shoes as well.  (Runners, organizers and race directors, feel free to chime in!)
